Plinth — Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 6, 2026
Plinth is a personal desktop application for gesture-drawing practice. It is built and used by a single individual (the "owner") and is not distributed or offered as a service to other users. This policy explains what data Plinth accesses, where it goes, and how it is handled.
Information Plinth Accesses
Pinterest data (optional). If the owner connects a Pinterest account, Plinth uses the official Pinterest API (v5) with OAuth authorization to read the owner's own boards and pins (read-only:
boards:read, pins:read). Plinth does not create, edit, delete, or share any Pinterest content, and does not access data belonging to any other Pinterest user.Local image files (optional). If the owner selects a local folder, Plinth reads image files from that folder to display them as drawing references. These files never leave the owner's device.
Public museum artwork data. Plinth fetches publicly available, CC0-licensed artwork images from open-access museum APIs (The Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Art Institute of Chicago, and the Cleveland Museum of Art). This data is public domain and contains no personal information.
How Data Is Stored
All data Plinth handles is stored locally on the owner's own computer, in the operating system's standard application-configuration directory. This includes:
App preferences (timer duration, source selection, folder path, etc.)
Pinterest OAuth access and refresh tokens, used only to make API requests on the owner's behalf
Plinth does not operate a server or database. No data is uploaded to, or stored on, any infrastructure controlled by the developer of Plinth.
What Plinth Does Not Do
Does not share, sell, or transmit any data to third parties
Does not use analytics, tracking, or advertising services
Does not post, modify, or delete content on the owner's Pinterest account
Does not access other Pinterest users' boards, pins, or profile data
Your Controls
Disconnecting Pinterest from within Plinth's settings deletes the stored access and refresh tokens from the local device immediately.
Access can also be revoked at any time from the owner's Pinterest account settings.
Uninstalling Plinth, or deleting its application-configuration folder, removes all locally stored data.
Children's Privacy
Plinth is a personal tool and is not directed at, marketed to, or intended for use by children.
Changes to This Policy
This policy may be updated if Plinth's data handling changes. The "last updated" date above will reflect the most recent revision.
